Main photo courtesy of Strand CruiseMyanmar has stunning treasures and the most unique way to view them is cruising down the Irrawaddy River. During the monsoons, the river swells, flooding its banks and nearby farmlands along the central part of the country. In front of it, facing the river are the remains of two giant lion sculptures about 20 meters high. After spending five hours on a potholed road from Bagan to Mandalay, I miss the calm waters of the Irrawaddy River. Peerawat JariyasombatThe Hsinbyume Pagoda, also known as the Myatheindan Pagoda, sits at the northern corner of Mingun, close to Mingun Pahtodawgyi.
